Cedarville University SIFE | Ready, Sell, Dough!
Love kids? In this project, a group of CU students will go into local schools to teach some 4th and 5th graders a few things about business. Then, we will help these kids set up their own small cookie business to sell cookies to their fellow students. This is a fun project that helps you teach what you know – and maybe teach you a few things as well! To get involved contact Rebekah Thome.
Time Commitment: 3-5 hours a week for 5 weeks
Fall 2010: This fall CU SIFE was once again able to bring our Ready, Sell, Dough program to the students of Greenview Primary in Jamestown, Ohio. The kids were able to enjoy learning about management, marketing, and finance while running their own cookie company. The whole process inspired many of the children to consider starting their own company." Spring 2010: This spring CU SIFE will be bringing this program to another school. Sophomore Rachel Horst will once again be leading the group as we bring it to Xenia Christian School in Xenia, Ohio. We certainly look forward to this opportunity to have an impact on our local community! Definite plans will be posted soon. Fall 2009: In the fall of 2009 Cedarville SIFE continued its successful Ready, Sell, Dough program. A group led by Sophomore Rachel Horst went into Greenview Primary in Jamestown, Ohio to teach the program. The group went one day a week for several weeks teaching the students how to form their cookie company. This all culminated into four days where the students got to put what they learned into action. |
