Cedarville University SIFE | Consulting Projects
Our SIFE team has been given many excellent opportunities for business consulting. In the past, we have worked hand-in-hand with the management team at Cedarville’s Hearthstone Inn, creating an operations manual that helps streamline the hotel’s daily operation. SIFE also worked with Coffee Ambassadors, a Chicago-based coffee shop that seeks to support coffee bean farmers of Central and South America. This year SIFE will initiate new business consulting projects to give members more opportunities to develop their professional skills and use their classroom knowledge to make a real world impact in the community.
Xenia Rotary Club
FALL 2008: Senior Stephen Ward and BAB member Jeff Lenke met with 50 local small business owners at the Xenia Rotary Club. They encouraged these business owners to implement environmental sustainability in their everyday business processes. Many of those who attended expressed an interest in learning more on the issue of environmental sustainability and how they can implement these principles in a practical way. In addition, a survey that was handed out after the presentation showed that participants experienced an increase in awareness of the topic by almost 50 percentage points! 2009: Midway through the semester, Somewhere Forever Ministries approached CU SIFE and asked us if we’d be willing to help them in their production and packaging of their evangelical DVD’s. This program is just now getting started and will continue all through next semester as a group of SIFE members weekly fills cases, labels, and ships orders of Somewhere Forever’s product. CU SIFE is excited to see how this partnership will develop and grow into the future!
